Horseshoe Lake Golf Course

I want to state that this is a local course to me and I have thoroughly enjoyed going there. It is laid back (for the most part) and was happy to help support the improvements of the course. Unfortunately, I went there with some friends about a week ago on a Saturday and had a late tee time around 5:00pm. We were only going to play 9 holes. The lovely lady at the front told us that the carts needed to be back by 7pm; Odd as most courses don't call carts back until 15-30 minutes before sunset, especially in the summer. Small potatoes. It was slow so we got through our 9 holes at around 6:15pm. We got to the turn and decided we would try to play the back 9 based on our pace. I went to go pay for the extra 9 for me and my friends. There was no one at the register. I rang the bell, stood there for close to 5 minutes then decided, well, if I see them, I will catch up and pay them later. Or be cool and say don't sweat it... whichever works :) We played a few more holes and was finishing 18 to get our carts back by 7pm until the lovely lady came over in a cart and asked what we were doing. I shared with her that we were going to pay for 9 more but nobody was there and I was happy to pay her now. She threw her hands up and got all flustered and stated that it wasn't okay and that's not how it works. I apologized as she continued to air how big of a deal it was. Again, nobody was there when I tried to go. Frustrated, my group and I picked up our golf balls and left. We will not return for quite some time.

The course was in great shape on August 8 2024 me and my son played 9 holes and had a good time. The cost was 75 bucks for 9 Holes with a 1pm tee time.

Booked a tee time to play 18 holes. Went inside to pay 30 minutes ahead of our time & the lady who works there told us & I quote"Your lucky I held your tee time cutting in this close". We were an half hour early & had been practicing putting & she saw me when she came outside for some reason. Her attitude was SO HORRIBLE we decided to leave & NEVER come back only due to her. She shouldn't be working with members of any public. JUST PLAIN RUDE & likes to us her hands & arms to try & get her ridiculous point across & won't listen. Putting her hand up like don't talk to me was the last straw

As a disc golfer we went into here with high Hopes, after reading the reviews and seeing potential disdain for disc out there. We made sure to be respectful stood aside to allow playthrough and cheered for ball shots and they cheered for our disc shots. This was a fantastic outing and really enjoyable to have the carts and maintained grounds for play. Yes it is pay to play but with mowed fairways good basket locations and getting to throw a 1k foot hole. Was a fantastic experience. Our round lasted til about 615 and the owner came out to greet us for our turn in and was great conversation. Would recommend this to all players but just be aware you are in a traditional ball golf space so play with respect and courtesy and there shouldn't be a problem. We will be back to help support this and other pay to play courses and help maintain a solid reputation for disc golf. We are all ambassadors of our sport.

6/23/2024 My husband and two of our friends were scheduled for a 3:30 spot. As soon as my husband got the cart and we all went to the first hole the manager of the course comes out and scolds us for being “too long” not even on the green for two minutes. She was very snarky, hostile and personally called out my husband saying he’s “so cool and she knows him.” She then started making irritated gestures towards our friends, waving her arms in frustration like a child. She stated there were people waiting to go. It was one person and he told us he was not waiting and never said anything to her and told us she was also rude to him. She made the whole atmosphere of the course feel very cold. This is not the first time she has been rude and disrespectful towards us. Highly don’t recommend coming to this course due to her being apart of the face of the company. She is truly the definition of a Karen and we will never go back to this course.
